Default Fizz Weather

I'm now thinking of all the software and apllications that I didnt load on the Q that I lost. Does Fizz Weather and Facade, which seem to be the most popular run down a standard battery? Is Fizz Weather also running causing it to run down the battery? I'm back in school, so I'm in class 6 hours a day, so I'm debating on whether to buy these programs and keep an extra charger with me or just don't bother. I have a couple of custom home screens and hacks that I'm going to reload. Any other recommended home screens, hacks, applications or software?

facade will not drain the battery
and fizz pulls weather from the net...so the more often you set it to download forcasts the more battery it will use
both great programs....get facade for sure...but look at the sbsh weather app when you look at facade (made by same company www.sbsh.net)

As far as fizz goes you can set it from manual updates to once a week...with many options in between.

Worth checking out PocketWeather made by the same folks that make Facade, they work really well together.

I just purchased and downloaded fizz weather, and am not so worried about the battery drain as I am about the possible costs. I have heard that some internet activity can surprise you on your next bill because of the size of the pages that may be downloaded. As I do not have a data package, anyone have an idea how much data is downloaded when a weather update is preformed? It didnt seem to take any time at all so I would guess it wont make much of an impact, but would appreciate any feed back. Thanks.

I use Fizz Weather myself, and it doesn't seem it would be as handy without a data plan. Maybe I'm overestimating the amount of data it downloads, but if you want/need current information, I would think that it would have to use a fair amount. While it may not be alot of data in an absolute sense, given the crazy amounts that are charged for data outside of a monthly plan, it has potential to be huge come bill time.

Since I don't have a data plan I have Fizz Weather setup to update whenever it's docked. So I just plug my phone into the computer each morning during my shower and when I get out everything is synced and updated.

I guess the only problem you might run into is your Current Conditions not being up to date, but I guess the OP could also dock at work (if that's an option) to keep everything up to date . . .

or as RB would say...you could just look out the window for the current conditions
