Let's see if I have this figured out before I start downloading stuff...

I'm using thunderbird on my PC because I don't have outlook. If I want to sync w/my Q, i need to download Birdiesynq?

To get email on my Q, it goes out every so often and sees if there is anything on the server, downloads it if there is, thus shortening my battery's life.

to "push" email (I assume that means to have the server automatically send it to my Q, there is a new program out there (which I've forgotten the name of already) which will accomplish this, then I don't need Birdiesync for Thunderbird--or do I, to keep Q & PC synced?

To read, create, edit Office files, I need documentstogo.

Maybe these should've been seperate posts?

Please let me know if these thoughts seem logical to you. I'm new at this whole smartphone deal. For the price I paid for thing, I want all the usefulness I can get to justify the expenditure. I just don't want to load it up with a bunch of junk and slow it down.

You are correct on both counts. I just started using Thunderbird, and I was able to sync using Birdiesync. I have not purchased it yet. I have also tried Finchsync. This works also. Finchsync is free, but takes a little more to set up and use. There is an excellent step-by-step instructions on their web site. I like the ability to have it sync with different address books and calendars and not have to combine them on your PC. It remembers which contacts are from a particular computer and will only sync those contracts with that computer and not any others.

I use Documents to go, also. I purchased it separately, but I believe it comes installed on some of the newer versions of the Q. My phone has a reader to display MS Office documents, but you cannot edit or create them.
