Default Elecont Weather App

Hey all,

I have tried Fizz weather in the past and had some issues (namely, taking up space on the homepage).

I stumbled across ELECONT WEATHER yesterday, and so far, and very happy with it.

It's main claim to fame for me, is that it has a mode that only uses ONE line of text on the homescreen. I mean, it's one SMALL line... No bigger than the size of the battery icon/profile bar.... Also, it updates right on the homescreen seamlessly, and it's animated (scrolls, animated icons, etc).

So far I dig it. Any one else tried this?

Share your thoughts...

Later,

Matt!

I tried both, and liked both! Went with Fizz though for the HS toggle function for multiple cities. I use the 2day small w/current conditions. Its a wee bit bigger than Elecont's 1 line view, but I found it easier to read. Same price I think. For some reason Fizz didn't update correctly and seemed buggy for awhile....but messing with the settings alot magically fixed it all.

Software...gotta luv it!!

Thanks, Matt...took me a while to remember why I chose Fizz over Elecont. Elecont requires a PC connection for downloading whereas Fizz doesn't; just copy CAB file directly into QDevice and you're good to go!! And like TreeFrog sez: use of smaller icons in Fizz is good at saving space -- in fact, sat up last nite changing my home page (by hand) and got to concur, the smaller icons do look better.

Ever notice how you do something to your Q and find out next day someone else just did the same thing? Ain't it Great!!

No, no; don't do it just 'cause we say so!! HA-HA-HA!!

It's what you like...me, I got Fizz Weather; Weather Watcher (free from Mark Singer -- takes Weather Channel info and formats and displays it nicely for the Q's screen); then got Weather Channel Mobile; and bookmarks to NWS and two local TV stations here in Austin (the one on cable TV8 has a great animated radar!!) and the other does traffic videos (stills) which is wonderful during rush hour(s).

Maybe retry the Fizz app...I did from earlier this spring and liked it well enough to spend $$...but check out Weather Watcher, first.

Do the Weekend...

Hey...

Lol, after hearing different about how some people set stuff up, it makes me want to give old apps another try.

I'm trying Facade now again. I remember why i uninstalled it last time again... It totally slowed down my homescreen...

I like Elecont for the home at this point in time (may change, lol) and Dash weather for detailed forecasts....

Until next time,

Matt!

Lol,

I know -- it's just fun seeing which maximizes the features I want. I am trying Fizz a bit longer still. It's actually nice on the homescreen in the smallest mode. Now, it seems to me that it updated on the homescreen, but Fizz wasn't running in the background.

Will Fizz weather update itself on the homescreen without the app running in the background?

Thanks,

Matt!

P.S. I like how it says "United State" next to the city on the main application window -- funny.

Yep, that's best....While those homescreen weather apps look cool, for me the Weather Underground Mobile is all I really need. Although it isn't 'pretty' looking, I can pull up all the weather info I will ever need thru PIE....and coolest of all, I can view the animated radar loop....Perfect!!...For 'me' anyways...
