CoPilot Live Question

Can anyone tell me if using a navigation program like CoPilot counts toward my data plan (I've only got a 10mb plan)? Looking at the ALK CoPilot site, they imply that only using the CoPilot "Live" capabilities (such as text messages, real-time tracking, intinerary updates, and communication) requires internet access. I'm hoping that for the "run of the mill" nagivation and direction capabilities, I'm just using the bluetooth GPS receiver and no transferring of data is required.

And is there a better navigation application for the Q?
