Default CONSILIENT Push Email

Has anyone tried this service? Here's what I know:

It's authentic, instantaneous, push email

$5/month

Only one email account is supported on the Q

Requires installation of CONSILIENT application on the Q

Application runs in the background while Q is on

While running, application interfaces with regular Outlook email client on the Q and pushes email to your device

You should receive email notifications as usual (sound, vibrate, etc.)

www.consilient.com

I'm not affiliated with the company and have nothing to gain by anyone trying it out. Just curious as to whether it's any good. If it is, I'm definitely looking into it.

I suppose it could be helpful if you don't have an exchange server. My work email is exchange (already pushed) and I check my personal mail every hour so spending 60 bucks a year doesn't make sense for me. Good luck.

Right, well, this obviously doesn't apply to exchange users, but given that most business users are using a Blackberry I figured that others might be interested in reliable email.

Anyone checked it out?

Consilient now has push free for the Q. I have it installed and it seems to work well. I'm using it now instead of mail2web, because it allows me to reply from my normal email address, and is totally free. There's just a small ad: "powered by consilient" at the bottom of sent emails.

Anyone know how the program works? I want to be sure it isn't sending texts each time . . . also, does anybody know about the battery life? It seems fine so far, but I've just tested it for a day.

Hmm. I went to the web site to look at it. I have a Verizon Q, so I am currently using the Verizon Wireless. The Wireless Client on my phone is set to "Push" so I am not sure whether this would benefit me or not.

In addition, my work is getting an exchange server in a couple of months, so I think I can just hang on until then.

I would be interested if yossarian and the others trying out this program have Verizon Wireless Sync and/or have tried it??

I am on Sprint, so I don't have Wireless Sync. I haven't noticed a major hit to battery life from this program, I'm still hoping it doesn't rely on SMS.

I've used Consilient for a day and my battery was drained far beyond what it normally does. Are you guys experiencing the same?
