Computer literate

Boy, I am finding out that I am not nearly as computer literate as I thought. I have facade on my Q, which I love but when I try and download other software such as fizzweather and home screen editor. I can't get my homescreen to look like I want. Maybe I just don't have enough patience but I end up deleting the others and just going back to just facade. It's very frustrating. I see other homescreens and I can't mine to look like them!

what i did was pick a home screen that came close to what i wanted, and from there on i added things to personalize it. when you see something in a home screen you like, download that home screen and look in the code (.xml) on how they did it and try to adopt it to your own screen. just make sure you keep a copy in case you mess up something (which is bound to happen :} if you modify the .xml on a pc, double-click the .xml before copying it to the Q, when it let's you read it using Windows Internet Explorer you know the code is correct, if not if will give you some indication on what isn't the way it is suppose to.

lastly... there are helpful write-up available and besides from that there are people here on EQ that can and will help where needed.

Thanks, rudeboy for the encouragement! I will eventually get the hang of this thing. I love my Q and I will just have to exercise some patience in getting it to look the way that I want. I did figure out how to turn my mp3 songs into ringtones, that was cool. I hated having the same ringtone for everybody. This site has been really helpful, I don't know what we would do without you veterans schooling us rookies!
