Default Can you do "Voice Record Memo" on Q?

I am looking to switch from my Treo 650 to a Q, but I need to know if there is an ability to voice record on it. I am a teacher and I use my Treo to record my class and post it "podcast style" on my website for students and parents to use.

Is there a program to allow me to do this with the Q? I really fear it might be a deal breaker.

thanks
K-

I'm not sure the length either, but it seems limited by your DEVICE memory moreso than anything else. Also, the stock VoiceNote app stores the file in a low-quality wave format (13kbps, 1 channel, 8kHz sampling rate using a GSM 6.10 codec), which equates to about 100 KB/minute. That being said, with the average user having 20 MB of internal-storage free, you are looking at 200 minutes of available record time from an available memory standpoint. The "counter" seems to only count to 99 minutes and 99 seconds (surely enough for a lecture... or else I pity your students :-)) I'm going to let it sit here and record for longer than 5 minutes and see what happens....

Good response. I like the fact that you can record anything and set it as a ringtone, and assign it to a contact. I am looking at the registry to see if I can change the default location to my storage card. This would save on-board memory (always at a premium) and effectively give you unlimited space.

In a few years, they'll have perfected the brain transplant.
