If you use brightkite and are having trouble getting it to post to twitter I have a helpful note for you. Check your privacy settings in brightkite, if you have the setting to private where only friends can see your post it will not post them to twitter. However if you have it set to public it will work as it should. They (brightkite) consider twitter to be public view. Nice little function in my opinion.

good info, i guess that applies to any service outside brightkite when using brightkight. If that makes any flippin sense at all.

that doesnt surprise me, I kinda second guessed for a second and figured it wouldnt hurt to try it out. Then ended up liking the concept.

Let me take a shot at this. If you use only twitter you have to change your location by using the setting menu and save it and all that jazz. But through Brightkite you can change it on the fly as well as post pics and what not. You can post directly to twitter as normal and bypass brightkite if you want to. Brightkite also ,if you want it to will let you know when others are in the same area as you. In my opinion it gives twitter that little extra boost info wise. Or just use brightkite alone and it is just like twitter but with maps and pushpins. Hope that helps (this coming from a guy using it less than 24 hours)

I've definitely enjoyed using Brightkite the last week or so as a layer of sorts on top of Twitter. It definitely adds a nice twist to the Twitter-type of microblogging. It can be cumbersome at times to check in at your current location, but once you get the hang of the various SMS commands, it's not so bad.
