Default AIM on the Q
Sorry to bring up a topic that i know has been discussed but i just wanted to totally clarify things for myself hopefully. I just got a Q today, with the unlimited data plan. While in the store i was reading the computer with the sales guy about instant messaging etc. It said something along the lines of, if you use any software that you get from verizon or that is preloaded on the phone, then instant messages will count as text messages. Any third party software downloaded by the user will use your kb usage...So i just wanna make sure im understanding it right. If i download some 3rd party software like IM+ or Agile Messanger, any Instant messaging i do with those programs would just be a part of my unlimited data plan, right?

Also, does anyone know any other software with AIM that is free? i know IM+ you can use a trial and then pay, and i think agile messanger there is a fee also.

Just try IM+ and Agile's 7 day free trials. Decide for yorself. Agile was free but no longer errr. IM+ is cheaper to join @ $29.95 v $44.95

www.octro.com is free right now - but I don't know for how long. You need a Google account to sign in, but then you can sign in to MSN, AIM and Yahoo. Also, look at www.eqo.com, which is free. I have not tried it yet - but it says the Q is supported.

i just tried to sign up for eqo.com but the Q was not on the list of phones to select from, i tried verizon (which i have), then sprint and the Q didnt come up...but they said they will email me when it does...who knows when that will be
