interesting - the Q is listed here: http://community.eqo.com/forum/eqo_m...pported_phones

Maybe you have to sign up as a different WM5 phone?? I don't really care to load J2ME, so I am not going to try it until my free Octro runs dry....

ok so i got octro to sign on to aim...and my buddy list comes up, but not all my buddys that are online show up as online. since this works with google, does that mean somehow only people that have a google account will show up as online with octro?

Good question on AIM - but I don't think a Google account matters as far as your buddies loading. I would recommend that if you are interested in continuing to work with Octro, send them a question via the support email address on their website. They have been very responsive to me. Heck, I'll stick with them for this fact alone!

This is what there email stated to do...(which did not work)
Try the following:
1) Disable the AIM account by going to Options->Accounts->legacy accounts. There is a checkbox for that. Press OK. You will see all your AIM buddies disappear from the buddy list. Now wait a few minutes.
2) Re-enable the AIM transport.
Tell us if that helps.
Octro Support Team

Im waiting still for a response to the email i sent back saying that it had not worked

ok so heres the deal with this thing now...they werent able to fix the problem with the version that i had. they sent me an email last night stating that there is a new version being released TODAY. so i updated my software and it works properly. also, there was talking of having to pay for any new versions...that doesnt appear to be the case as i downloaded and logged on with out having to pay. so looks like octro is your best bet for free IM programing!!!

So, I've recently downloaded octro to my Q. I am trying to get the AIM to work, but the display says: "AIM Transport Offline". What do I do?

I must sound like a complete dork.

haha no your not a dork...one thing that i noticed with the program when i firt used it was to do a soft reset and then start it up...when it starts back up give it a minute or 2 to let it load up the list the first time...and if that doesnt work you can always use there tech support..they are very responsive
