Default A problem with Opera mobile and IE?

I just bought a Q from Sprint about a week and a half ago and I'm still trying to learn everything about it but one of the first things I did was get opera mobile. The problem I have is that on Opera mobile and IE when I exit the browser the icon that shows data transmission in the top right hand corner stays with the two arrows facing each other. This happens on Opera even when I use "menu" and exit. The easiest way I've found to get the antenna icon back is to call a number and hang up. I've been doing this to a automated number for my bank. I assume if it gets stuck like that tranferring data even after I exited the browser it will drain my battery pretty fast. Anyone have any idea's on this?
