Default 3rd party camera software

Hey all,
I've been searching relentlessly for some 3rd party camera software, but to no avail. I guess I was rather unimpressed with the cheesy viewfinder that comes up in camera mode when compared to something like the Blackjack's full-screen deal (whyyyy can't they make that phone for Sprint? Damn the whole CDMA/GSM crap). I know other people out there want this too as I've seen hints of it in other posts, but no one has asked the question directly (that I've found).

Also, is it possible to override the maximum video recording resolution (maybe through a registry hack?) to something that sucks a little less? I transferred the video from my Q onto my computer and tried full-screening it and I almost felt I got higher quality trying to view the semi-scrambled adult shows on basic cable from when I was 12.

Oh, and one more thing. I know that the only way to view images full-screen is to enter slideshow mode and flip through that, but has anyone else noticed that the images don't quite make it to all the edges of the display?

I know this phone can handle it; the processor is faster than the Blackjack's and it's running the same OS with the same resolution camera. If I could program worth a damn, I'd take this on myself because hacking this phone to within an inch of its life would be my hobby.

Look into "CoolCamera". It'll do the trick.

Very nice, thanks! I don't know how I missed that... Perhaps I should broaden my searches to "Windows Mobile software" instead of just "Motorola Q software."

I also noticed that at maximum resolution, the file size is roughly four times that when using the standard software with comparable image quality.
I'll admit it; the program isn't perfect and it seems like it might've been made for another platform, but it'll do until something better comes along.

*bump* The video capture modes suck on the q9m... 128x96...160x120...176x144 max. WTf is that garbage... How about 320x240 for the size of the screen. Very disappointing. Going to ditch this clunker soon. Suppose to be "multimedia" phone. Then they stick a little one inch square box for vid capture... gimme a break. My treo did pretty 320x320 video... think Im going back...

True. I wonna like the q9m. I like the form factor.. theres just so many short comings... and I am on my 4th one now... one was a brick when I got it... the others all succumbed to the wierd "white screen of death". Funny thing is... I got my 2nd q9m as my 4th replacement. Ha. They sent me the one I had RM'd 2 months before. The only way they figured it out is they couldnt locate the return after 3 weeks, then when I rattled off the meid to her, she said, well thats why we cant find it in our warehouse, you have the 2nd one you sent back... bizzare
