Default someone should create a loader for ringtone wallpaper and themes

someone should create a loader for ringtone wallpaper and themes, activesync is such a big pain in the ass to use and it never work correctly. It would be awesome if someone made one

What exactly do you mean by a loader? As in you give it a CAB/ZIP file (or even just an xml and a jpg) on your desktop, and it loads it onto your Q? Or something you use on your Q?

Something that goes on ur desktop and u connect to ur Q via usb cable or bluetooth and you can load ringtones, wallpapers, programs, themes and stuff like that onto ur Q without using activesync. I had nextel and there was a loader call webjal and myjal that loaded that stuff to the nextel phones so I figured it could be done for the Q. Webjal was a motorola program that they created and someone hacked for the public to use then it became simplifed by a programmer to just drag and drop files to the program on ur desktop and it would put the files where they needed to go. This would be awesome if there was something for the Q that did the same.

Just use a bluetooth dongle and do the OBEX file transfer profile... you can get them to your My Documents folder easily that way... No active sync required

First you have to pair your Q with a computer over bluetooth... that can be done by following your bluetooth section in your Q manual.

Then, on your computer, you will find the services that are available on the phone and computer pairing... one of them being OBEX, Object File Transfer... from there you can typically drag and drop or select files to send to the phone over this profile.

It's not really a step by step process as a lot of software is different... If you look for the signs (File Send, Transfer, OBEX, etc key words), then you should be able to easily drag and drop files to your phone...

Unfortunately the File Transfer profile only allows to you go straight to My Documents... you can get the files there and put them in appropriate places from your phone...

"wallpapers", they can go most any place on the Q, then use the Picture Viewer to set them as the theme's background image.

"themes", they go in \\Application Data\Home

"ring tones", they go in \\Application Data\Sounds

The drawback to NOT using ActiveSync is having to move the files manually once you get them on the phone...

If the file you download is a .cab file, then you can just copy it to your phone and run it on your phone (using File Explorer)... it'll install the program, then you can safely delete the .cab file.

If it's a setup package (.msi or .exe) on your computer, then when it runs, you'll have to use ActiveSync... because it will queue the .cab file to be run on teh device the next time you sync.
