Default Java for Q

I found a JVM for the Motorla Q. The setback is it's $6.00, but if (you're like me) and prefer Java over .Net...worth every dime. It's part of IBM WebSphere and can be downloaded or bought here!

Have you drank your java today?!

If you go here:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/wireless/weme/
you will find one for WM5. It's free to trial it too.

Default Java still doesn't work

Hi:

I have looked at the various posts and I still can't get Java on my Motorola Q. I download the package from IBM, however it keeps saying that the files were not meant for my device when it tries to install.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gabe

Sounds like you might be trying to install the PPC version of J9. make sure you download the Smartphone version.

Default Wrong version?

Thanks for your input. I have tried just about every version I can find and none of them seem to work. I am so frustrated with this.

I tried with the same results until I realized from someone's remarks about Verizon and google that the ISP may be the problem. I'm waiting to see someone who has Verizon resolve it with the IBM solution to tell us how.

Motorola just replies they have no way of handling Java and apparently will not try to resolve it. They are shooting themselves in the foot regarding Java.

Did you get the $6 application to work? If so, identify and tell us where you get it pls.

Sorry, don't currently have it on my Q. Have not gotten around to re-installing since doing recent Software Update. I will try it as soon as I get it back on and let you know.
