System Tools or Repair App to make the camera flash blink when a text is received

I am working on this. What options would everyone like to see with this app?

I already have basics like:

Number of blinks
blink length
do/don't display a pop-up saying "New Message"

What else do you want it to do?

Disclaimer: machx0r is to thank for ALL of the heavy lifting on this project, he provided the source code and methods by which to control the camera flash. He also pointed me in the right direction of some useful message handling examples.

a way to turn it off while blinking -unlike the msg received sound- would be nice.

This is something that I'd definitely use as for additionally functionality I think you've covered it.

If you need testers when it's in a usable state count me in.

how about just turning the display light on/off every 3-4 seconds if there is a new email?

The message intercept class does not work with email. There may be a class we could use but I have not seen one.

one feature I would like is the ability to cancel it with either the scroll wheel or side "back" button, preferably with the keyboard locked, so I can stop the blinking without removing from the holster. (needing to remap the button would be OK with me.)

Yes, there is a commercial program for ~$5, and now a free option. See http://www.qusers.com/forum/viewtopi...ght=flashlight

Works well.
