more or less i may be ready for a change of hs.... and the new look grew on me so i might (hopefully somebody will beat me to it) create a screen like it, but one that works with Facade :}
WM6.1 works with homescreen xml files just as all the other WM systems before.
The "sliding panel" plugin is one single plugin that takes over the complete homescreen (can be compared to the Samsung i600 "Card Wheel" homescreen). You can of course run that plugin on WM5 if you have the dll and all necessary files that are used in the plugin.
There are XML's for the sliding panels.. Not sure if they will work on the WM5 phones or not but I guess you could try. I have tried editing them my self with no luck. So who knows
i wouldn't mind trying.. and i guess it's a matter of time before the "slide panel" plug-in will be available to the masses. i started -or at least had the intention to start- about 10 times today, but every time something comes up.. just for starters make something that looks like it, with the big clock, appointments (Facade) and message + profile..
The sliding panels also use information from the registry. The Chome Configurator program is excellent at providing a GUI interface to all that where you can easily add/customize panels with application launchers, websites, contacts, etc.
would you like a copy of the XML for the media sliding panel?
i would not be mad if you would email it to me :} thanks...
