Very Simple .xml editting, failure. Probably would take 3mins - Motorola Q Forum

OK basically I tried to take the default sprint layout, and remove everything but the MRU, Date/Time, Messaging Plugin (incl VM), and Profile plugin - no calendar, no BT, no carrier plugin, no IM plugin, none of that junk. I also tried to make the time show at double the font size, but that was a fail.

I tried it, and I could upload it, but I really think someone who knows what they are doing could do this in less time it would take them to look at my messed up .xml...

Summary:
Can anyone take the sprint homescreen and leave only the MRU, Date/time (make the time bigger? if possible?), Messaging+VM, Profile. And if possible please add the fizz weather plugin to the bottom,if not... I'll take my hand at copying and pasting

I think this would not take very much because I don't want any fancy graphics or anything... just a simple edit. Thanks a load!

CanU pls attach the *.xml file you're looking to have edited. I may be able to help.

Sorry it took so long, been busy with other stuff. Here it is with the excess crap taken out. I don't have sprint, so the mru for some reason doesn't show up on my q when loaded, but it probably has to do with that special plugin that Sprint has to allow u to set the programs that u want in it. Hopefully this is the way u want it. If I forgot anything let me know, or if there are any changes.

So I tried that one, 'thank'ed you it was awesome of you to do that. But when I tried it, it looked kinda odd... so I tried again!

This time, it turned out cool... well mimimalistic... but cool!

This is what it ended up looking like:

I couldn't make the time bigger, but I think its still fine for my needs.

There are a few things in the .xml that you would need to change if you use it. When you download it, right click, click edit, and search for "Gmail Push" and change it to whatever your mail account is called... I couldn't figure out how to make it adapt to everyone's default email... so sorry but a manual change would be neccesary.

The name of it as it shows up in the homescreen settings menu is Sprint Layout.... and I didn't know how to change that either... so...

But attached is the editted modded xml. Thanks for all the help!

Looks Nice. U could make the time bigger by increasing the plugin heighth and also increasing the font size for the time. Just in case u still want to make it bigger.
