Its getting to that point, that takes ALOT of reading, & examining xml code from already made Homescreens. Unless u know how to write xml code already. I started doing this about 7 months ago, & I didn't know how to write code, or use photoshop for the backgrounds. I've since have made close to 100 HS's for this forum. Check out the sticky threads at the top of the homescreen forums. There are a few good sites listed that give great tutorials. There are also 2 programs that will help u start to make the HS's: Madbeetle Homescreen Builder & Ruttensoft Homescreen Designer that will give u a start at making the screens. But they only get u half way there. To get them perfect, u have to tweak the xml manually. Even when, u know what u r doing like me, it still takes a few hours per screen, preparing the background image, & getting everything lined up.

| yeah if I use one of my previous "templates" ive made I can do them in as fast as 5 minutes, its all about getting a format and then sticking with it. I think the longest it has taken me to create a homescreen (flip style ones) was about 1 1/2 days. The part that takes me forever is updating my website code, creating the screenshot for my website and then I upload the screenshot also to an external image host for posting hotlinks everywhere (my bandwith is over 30gb a month as is) and then i link to it.
and doc isnt it time you actually make a thread for yourself now that you are a regular ;) I know a lot of people would enjoy paging through your homescreens in one place. |

However, I am NOT one who likes to do that. No offense to Eko or Piranah, but I like to come up with new designs for almost every screen that I make. Hence, the extra time needed. If someone asks to change a screen to include i.e. their school or car using a similar layout they saw in another post, I for the most part will do it once or so. But I won't do it on a continuous basis. That is something I think most people with a 5th grade education level can do for themselves, if they have the initiative.
@EKO: I've already addressed this issue with both RB & n99, and while I appreciate your sentiment, I will not form my own HS thread for a few reasons: 1) It would be just a duplication of the HS collection, 2) if anyone wants to c any previous screens, all they have to do is SEARCH either thru the HS collection or click on my name & look for previous posts by me, 3) keeps the extra chatter down that is rampant in the personal HS threads, 4) won't be doing this much longer. But again, thanks for idea, but they can already page thru one place for my screens (Homescreen Collection). And like u stated in your post, it is alot of time & work to put them in 1 spot & link to many spots. I just don't have the time.
