So today, when I get off work, I'm gonna go home and just start messin around with creating homescreens. I know it's just a short xml file and a jpg so ... can't be that hard, right? ;)

So ... what I'd like to know is what little tricks you guys have learned or what advice you have for a new kid with basic knowledge of coding. I'm just gonna check out the xml files from the ones i already have installed and i should be able to pick up most of it from that but your advice would be greatly appreciated. Maybe this can become a reference guide for people who wanna learn. Or ... is there already one of those and I'm just being that annoying new kid who doesn't search for things first?

so when i'm creating this (i'm only to the color scheme so far ... learning as i go down the line), how am i going to know if things line up right? do i have to load the xml/jpg files onto my phone to test them every time i want to check on the progress or is there a different way to view as i work?
