Default Newbie Home Screen Question

Sorry if it's a repeat, but looked earlier and could not find this exact thread. I've downloaded a zip file for a home screen into my //applications/home file on my Q, but it does not show up as an option to use as my home screen under settings. Do I need to transfer the individual files, not the whole zip file, or what? Thanks in advance for any help.

unzip the file on your pc and then transfer the two files to that directory. it'll just be an xml file and a jpg file.

Apologies in advance for my lack of proficiency here, but for some reason my pc will not let me transfer the xml file or folder with the jpg file to the Home folder. It will copy the file when I open the zip folder, but will not paste it on the Home folder page. Any suggestions? Thanks

Did you extract the xml and other file to your pc first? Extract the file to desktop, then move them over to the Q's folder. That should do it.

yeah, from the sound of what you said, it sounds like you're just "opening" the zip file which will allow up to view what's in it but doesn't "extract" it. make sure you're unzipping the file to your PC first, then drag the two files (xml and jpg) to your Home folder on your Q.

Informative

I can't seem to drag 'n drop from my extracted PC location to the device location, (home) but I have found that I can right-click, copy, then paste to the proer directory... Lord knows why M$ differentiates, but that is how I get the buggers to my Home dir, FWIW
