New Homescreen concept?

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for.... The only thing is, i renamed the plugin in the XML to "frontscreen" and I don't see it in the facade settings under plugins. Any thoughts?

Also, you said, once I get this to show up in my plugins in facade, i can just activate it, and put it to the top of the plugin list for any homescreen I want?

you dont put it in facade
just copy the code in to the xml file

when i read the first post i was thinking about making a separate tab in Facade for a almost full screen picture.. but i gotta say Prosper's idea is so much better...

he's one smart dude.

I took that as, the name you give this new plugin will populate in the Facade "plugins" list, and can be used whenever, and wherever on other homescreens...

im running facade on my screen and just copied the code in and it worked
didnt mess with any other facade settings
although if you wanted to add it to others it might show up...but if its not it might just be easier to copy and paste

Cutting and pasting is very easy for this -- i just wasn't sure if a new "fontscreen" plugin was supposed to show up in the plugins menu under facade...

Wow, I am glad I asked this -- this is so perfect. I like how the start menu (and in my case RightMenu) work from this screen without switching to the homescreen. Now, one day i'll see if it's possible to add the time in the corner, then it's flawless -- but beggars can't be choosers, and I am extremely satisfied with this.

I have attached a 320x213 image that i am using just for sh*ts & giggles...

freaky image... regarding the clock, i have the clock on the icon-bar.. isn't the icon-bar visible when doing Prosper's method (i have not tried so there for i ask :}

and no its not becuase this plugin is before all of those
just like its no visable on the missed call screen

No,

All you see with this code is the image and the start bar -- that's what makes it so sweet..... Here's a screen shot. After i hit the 'down' key -- this screen would go to the normal homescreen of your choosing.... (although a super small clock in the corner would prevent me from unlocking my phone to see the time....but that's a small burden compared to how cool this is!)

i used the carbon fiber background (its my theme)
i use the LCD carbon fiber screen
the eko carbon fiber missed call screen and now this 'Screen Saver Image'
also have my start menu background customised to match the carbon fiber background!
