Need Homesreen for Low Vision Q'er

Hello Q Forum

I am a new Q9h user and I have low vision. I am looking for either a easier to use PC based editor, or a high contrast (white text / black background) with large font homescreen. I have Mobile Speak Smartphone (MSS), which has embedded color schemes, but their pre-packaged schemes have some serious issues in the sub-menues (text is white on white or black or black unless highlighted). I like the magnifier in MSS, but unfortunately was forced to uninstall it and is disabled the voicedial feature (bad software).

Anyway, I am first time forum user and don't really know how to use this forum. I don't know what the "icons" mean (can't really see them anyway) or how to take advantage of all the forum's featuress. Please pardon my inexperience...... and typos : ) HELP!

Any suggestions/comments?.

Mad Beetle is pretty good for making basic homescreens.

so basically your wanting a simple homescreen with pure white text against a dark colored bckground? is this correct?

Yes, white text on dark background throughout main and sub-menus. Ideally, I would also like to enlarge text. I am really new at this and don't know what is possible. I copied my theme files and opened them. They looked fairly simple, so I got the idea if might be possible to create what I need. I found this forum, and am encourage by the wide variety of HS posts. na I think maybe you should have made the message plugins bigger for him and maybe made the time and date just a shade smaller so you had the room but I think it looks good

Actually, the kaylabears homescreeon is not too bad. In a perfect world, I would agree with crazykay that the other screen elements could be bigger and that date/time smaller. That said, if the white on black coler extend to sub-menus, it is a good start (much better than what i have).

Also, crazykay. I downloaded MadBeetle. I got it working (I think) but have a fairly significant problem with it. I use the "high contrast" white on black seeting in Win XP. In the Madbeetle program, the titles on the items on the right box do not show up. Also the left box appears empty, with the execept of the "start" and "menu" buttons at bottom. I can open the tags in the right box and read the dialog boxes. but I don't know what each are titled. Not to bug you on this, but what should I see when I open the program and start a new project?
