Haven't looked at the xml yet, but it looks like your image size is off. 320wx240h, but its more like 320x220 because the softkeys take up close to 20 pixels at the bottom. Did you resize your image to these parameters?

I guess the tutorial was for QVGA Portrait devices. The Q is a QVGA Landscape device. Screen orientation is flipped.

First, it seems like your background image got the size for Portrait displays. For you Q, you need 320 width and 213 height.

The plugins are also off the screen. Play with the height of the plugins (actually reduce the height), and I'm sure you can fix that, too.

The main thing I see wrong is that you're a Chiefs fan!! hahahahaha Sorry couldn't resist.

But I do admire you for wading into homescreen making, too deep for me!

I used this tutorial...I've adjusted the image size, but I'm not real sure how to adjust the plug in size/location. I will mess with it. Thanks for your help.

Even more than that, I'm a Jayhawk fan...which means that I really don't like the Tarheels (or Roy Williams). But that's okay b/c it's all in good fun!

& it's more of an attempt at homescreens (but thank you). I just think it would be really cool to have something that I made as my homescreen...but it's not going well. I have no experience with writing xml codes (or whatever it's called) or photoshop so just that mess up ^^ took me 3 hours!! Der, rb, & n99 make it seem so easy that I had to atleast try.

Oh well, we'll see!

Thanks for everyone's help, I managed to atleast make it tolerable:
(very plain though)

And I came up with this one:

(which looks much better imo)

A couple of questions though:
Why does the top bar look pink on my Q but fine on here?
Get the carrier (or my name) between the time and date?

I'm actually kind of proud of myself. It took hours and lots copying files and deleting to start over, but atleast I did something.

(getting better...)

Anyone know why there are lines thru the pic/calendar & how to get rid of them?

(I can post links to them for the collection once I finalize them if you'd like rb/n99)

You're definetly getting better ... learning by doing ;)

ShowSeparatorLine="0" should help you with the seperator lines next to the headings.

I'm sorry but I can't figure out where to do this at? I can't find it in Facade settings or in the .xml for that home screen....can you be more specific?
