Yes, that is how I have mine set up and it works on my Q.

When you open Messaging and it lists your accounts,
Text Messages
Outlook
MMS
POP3.charter.net

Is the above list what you see?
My email account displays as the name of the account not as a POP3 address. That's just the way I have mine set up.

Worked great! Thanks.

The actual issue is that the .XML file and the Home Screen Image have to be in the same directory.

Great idea!

Gadget,

That is correct. My outlook actually says Outlook Email though. Is there any chance you can send me your home screen xml file? I tried using the code you have provided without any luck.

Thanks

SDMahan

You seem to be very good with the .xml files, I on the other hand am just starting to play with this stuff like many others. I was wondering if you know of or can tell me how to modify a two page home screen like the xp mobile one that I am currently using, but with the added features of the calendar and task tabs when the second screen appears. I am not currently using facade, but wondered if I still had the option to use existing calendar and tasks? Appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks!!

I don't know of any other way than using a 3rd party app, as far as I know Facade seems to be the most popular one out there. I personally don't use it but I have in the past.

I use Papyrus (from the same company) it doesn't display on the homescreen but when you install it gives you the option of launching it instead of the Calendar or Tasks program on the phone. So if I highlight the appointments on my home screen and press the action key it launches Papyrus instead of Calendar.
I really like the way it is laid out.

Gadget is correct (of course he is. If it wasn't for Gadget and Jasperkins, I would know nothing about home screens and xml). There is no way to see tasks on the home screen without a 3rd party plugin. Oxious has a free tasks plugin, but I found the added benefits of Facade (launcher bar, tabbed areas for appts, tasks and shortcuts, and viewing tasks) to be well worth to registration fee.

Facade is for home screens and will use default calendar and tasks. Papyrus is a replacement for calendar and tasks that adds more Outlook fields and added functionality.

Thanks Gadget and SDMahan. I appreciate the fast response. I guess I will just have to pony up and give Papyrus and Facade a try. But......Once I have them is the option for the tabbed launcher bar in their program or is that something that needs to be modified in the xml file?

Facade will create launcher and tabbed bars by itself, but I don't think it will combine them. You would have to do that by editing the XML. Download the Facade XML manual. It is actually quite good at explaining tabs. Print out the XML my 4th Home Screen and compare the Facade stuff to the manual. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them publically on this thread so that others can take advantage of it.
