Can you post just the image for us? It would appear that the image is not the proper size, in which case you'd need to edit it with Photoshop or equivalent to make the image the proper size.

Usually when this happen, it is because you've changed the background image directly in the home screen on the Q. If you want to make that work, you will need to change the background image in the xml directly and put back 'Default' in the background image.

Change the following line in your xml:

<background bgimage="xxxxxx.jpg" valign="top"/>

Hope this will help.

I changed the xml to what ducs suggested but no change to the results. Here is the picture I am using, I did change it to 320x240 before moving it to Q. thanks for trying to help me!

Have you put back on the Q the background image to 'Default'?

As said before, try size 320x213. That's the actual screen size that is left after substracting 27 px for the softkeys.

I just did a quick test, as Prosper said, you will need to bring back the image size to 320*213 but you will also need to remove the default value on your Q in the Setting/Home screen <Background image> to Default, because if you don't do that, the white bar will stay.
