I just installed Goodlink software on my Samsung Blackjack and noticed that the contacts shortcut was replaced with the Good Contacts that load my corporate contact list (1,000+). I don't want to go through/search for this many contacts just to find a phone number on my phone and prefer to use the phone contact system. I can create a shortcuts using one of my number keys (press and holding the number 2), but sometimes this doesn't work and I have to restart my phone. Is there any way I can get the home screen changed so I can have the phone contacts come up with I press the "Contact" shortcut on my home screen?
No worries. BlackJack, Q, Dash all run the same OS so the tweaks, homescreens, etc are pretty similar across the board. I have a Dash and GoodLink installed as well. GoodLink basically takes over the phone and screws it up, there's no way around it.
The latest version of the client lets you categorize your contacts for faster access. You will have to export your SIM contacts from your phone to your Outlook Contacts then categorize them in GoodLink. Its pretty dumb but that's their workaround.
Their default homescreen is mediocre at best. You are better off modifying the XML of the homescreen to suit your needs. Stevedave from this forum has laid some of the groundwork on implementing Goodlink plug-ins on custom home screens.
