| And the V2 (different background).
This one functions the same as the one above, except for a different background. I didn't bother with an animated GIF, as it is cumbersome to build. Superman w/ Facade V2 "Right Click" and "Save As" - Orange, and Facade Plugins required

| Gears Of War "Right Click" and "Save As" - No Plugins required.
This Homescreen has a "Screen Saver" image. A simple downclick of the D-Pad will reveal the full screen.

| DA, your Superman HSs are frickin awesome Bro!!... Like the 'Click' menu accross the top... Is that a Facade thing? or did you write the XML from scratch?
Either way, I like the direction that your Homescreens are going/// Very, very innovative. |

| That is a Facade screen. I wish I could write up something like that in XML. What I've basically done, is create a blank Facade tab, with a hidden image. You really have to know where you are going on that screen, or you'll never find what you're looking for.
I do have to admit, I'm torn between my "Blue Facade: Packed" screen and that "Superman V3" screen. One looks ultra slick on the phone, the other is Fully loaded on a Minimal amount of clicking.
I'll likely figure out someway to combing the two.
And thank you for the appreciation. I do enjoy making them, and am glad that people can learn/build/enjoy them.

| just a general question:
do you use different xml templates for common layouts? Something like everything on leftside.xml or is each one custom? |

| I keep a log of all the homescreens that I have done. With any given image, I compare to what I've done before and what I'm going to be building. I find a close match, and rebuild it from there. I have a full folder of XML plugins, that are simple TXT files. Knowing which ones I want, and in what order I build the XML close to where it needs to be. Once I've laid it out close I load both image and XMl to the Q, and take a screen shot.
It's just a matter of tweaking it from there.
Depending on the image, I adjust locations and sizes.
Now, something like the Weekend Vette series, I started with a simple screen, added Facade, squeezed it with Orange, then figured out how to do make Facade invisible. Then it was fully a matter of staring at the product, on the Q, and figuring out where pieces needed to be re-fit or re-configured.
In the Quiet Blue series, I built the background image, and had a vague idea of the layout. That one went through multiple versions until I had something that I wanted.
In my recent "Blue Facade" series, I knew the layout I wanted, and built the image onto it. I then tweaked each one to get it to where I liked it.
The Superman series, was having a simple image, and building the XMl around it.
Se, in essence, some are fully built from scratch, others are rebuilt off previous screens. But no, I don't have a "blank" layout that I build from each time.
The Color schemes only need certain tweaks to maintain the layouts I want. A simple CTRL H and "replace All" with the new color and it's done.
I'm usually never 100% satisfied with a finished Homescreen. There's always something that's just off slightly that I never seem to get back to fixing. For instance, you're looking at the Superman screens going "Wow!", "damn!", "Hot!"
I'm looking at it mumbling, "Nuts, the Profile, Date and Clock text sizes aren't right." and "I should have kicked the messaging/Iconbar up one pixel."

| ahh, still seems like it can be quite labor intensive for some screens. Also being creative I'm sure helps, wonder if there is a plug-in for that? :-)
Keep up the good work! |
