Default call progress and missed calls

So I'm tinkering around with the xml, and I was wondering if it would be possible to disable certain parts of the display while enabling others. Specifically, if I'm in a call, would it be possible to disable the calendar plugin while enabling the missed calls plugin? Likewise, if I have missed calls, to again disable the calendar plugin

Having missed calls and call progress disappear when not needed is simple enough, but there doesn't seem to be a format state="yescall" or something to that effect to hide the calendar, so simply adding the other plugins causes everything to scroll down. trying to use the =! command (format state=!"nocall") seems to break the .home file.
