Default A few questions (brand new to Q) about home screens, themes, and fonts.

Just got my Moto Q 9h and have a few queries. I have searched the forums for about 30 mins now and i cant find the answer to some newbie questions i have.

First of, how would one go about changing the font on the home screen (not the bar fonts but the ones on the background image)? I dont yet understand how to find and edit the xml files and where could i find the color codes i would want to use?

Also, how can you change the color of the icon bars on the top and bottom of the home screen? Im from Canada and my provider is FIDO so atm im just using their default theme.

And off topic, how can you add the Moto Q that you have to your avatar area?

welcome to forums.
homescreens are kept in your phone's \applications\home folder.
open the xml file in notepad. the color codes you can find with a simple google search of xml color codes.

First of, how would one go about changing the font on the home screen (not the bar fonts but the ones on the background image)? I dont yet understand how to find and edit the xml files and where could i find the color codes i would want to use? Look in the creating a homescreen thread for tutorials on editing .xml files. That might give you an idea. The other thing you are wanting is a hex color chart, a Google search will get you there.

Also, how can you change the color of the icon bars on the top and bottom of the home screen? Im from Canada and my provider is FIDO so atm im just using their default theme. The bar colors are determined by the color scheme...Start>Settings>HomeScreen>Color Scheme Eko has a variety of colors you can add (including black) at ekopapers.com

And off topic, how can you add the Moto Q that you have to your avatar area? In the UserCP near the top of the page.

Hope that gets you started!
