| I used to hate Dell. The quality has improved IMMENSLY over the last few years. So much so that I bought a Dell 1525 with Vista Basic on it for $499 from Dell. That was at least 6 months ago. It has been rock solid.
My only complaint with it was that damn near every driver had an update for it the day I pulled it out of the box. They make it seem like they configure it for you... then couldn't you make sure it's up to date?
They have some cool colors, too.
Personaly, I'd never buy a Mac. I could buy 2 of those Dells for what Apple sells the cheapest Apple laptop for. |

In order to get the red color I want and get both XP Professional and Vista, there is also an extra charge.
I am calling Dell now because I have some questions.. |

| I'm thinking about buying a Dell Mini 9 with Ubuntu. It's like 400 bucks and I don't like lugging around my Asus laptop to class, especially since the battey doesn't even last two hours (length of a class). Dell advertises it as having a 4-hour battery life, and I want a computer with Ubuntu badly.

I am calling Dell now because I have some questions.. | That's a pretty good set up, sherri. Just make sure you get more than a 1 gig of RAM installed on the sucker. Xp loves RAM and uses 1 gig just for running the OS, then you try to run other software then everything slows down.
Dual core is good but you will rarely use it but it's there if you need it. I burn back-ups, play a cd, and work in QB's with a dual core at same time....you will like it. Is this an early Christmas present? It's a good one if it is.

Make sure you dont overclock your multilomoter when you editing the binary files b/c it might reconfigure your harddrive and your q might blowup.
See? Simple solutions. http://www.frappr.com/?a=constellati...d=137440517530 |
