I saw that on engadget this morning. That stuff is crazy. Every day i'm reading things about kids who open their expensive video games and ipods from Christmas only to find a brick or phone book or something in the box.
There was an article earlier this year when a couple bought a hd video camera from best buy and when they got home there was a telephone jack and cord in the box, no camera. The store or corporate would not take it back, so they got the local news involved. Once I got a sealed dvd from best buy. Went home, case was empty. I had to plead with the manager that I was getting the same dvd again. Too many people take advantage that legit people have the problems.
if it were me i would have not over reacted. I would have been mad at buying a used device at a new price. Im sure unless her parents engrain it in the girl or if there was violence the girl will be fine. Now would be a good time to talk to her about that stuff.
Honestly if that happened at our house we would have most likely gotten a laugh and then went to the manager and showed them the video.
My youngest son was barely 5 years old when figured out how to order adult movies on demand. I doubt he would have gotten more than one if it terrified him im guessing he liked seeing boobies. I did have to block all that though. its expensive!!! that stuff is over rated imo.
I have a suspicion the parents are inspecting the contents of that ipod. We americans do tend to over react about sex.. lately its just crazy. great excuse for a lawsuit.
I used to work at Circuit City. Everyone there had heard the infamous "Brick in the Box" return story. Hence why the CSM's always opened a box when it was returned. However, powering up the component and testing it was a different story.
On the order of "Use it and Return it" stories, I'm guilty on numerous issues. Sawzall, Pumps, and work items usually. But the CFO of my company loves that, as it saves us money and translates into a bonus at the end of the year.
Now, because I know there are others like me, I always check the item as soon as I get out the door.
