tv via Orb.com - Motorola Q Forum

got the tv tuner card (ASD InstantTV DeLuxe) and it works with Orb.. went to Orb on the Q and it rebooted :] to make sure tried it on the laptop and i can watch tv just fine... one slight issue, it;s runs about 30-50 seconds behind compared to my tv in the basement.

overall it's cool.. bought it mainly to watch home tv from the laptop (internet isn't any slower either while playing/streaming) i will try again on the Q later..

it works on the Q also.. it just buffers (too) often. perhaps playing with the buffering would help.

ps. anybody know of a player (besides WMP) that can play streams like thisand might buffer less (for the pc, not the Q..)

Have you tried VLC Player? It like TCMP player but for you laptop. I use it all the time.

mike suggested Real Player which works better.. but i am going to try VLC, like i said to him Real Player has a bit too much fluff for my liking :}

I was thinking the samething. I tired using it to download Google videos and it didnt work.

Don't think VLC can be utilized by Orb, but if so that's not a bad choice,

I've just started using Quicktime and it almost never needs to buffer for some reason... haven't used it for long but so far so good,,,

On your Orb account 'settings', you can set Quicktime to stream your video/TV.....give it a try and let us know...

BTW, if I remember correctly, I think I have Quicktime version 7....it's free to download if you already don't have it on your laptop.
