We have gotten a lot of rain from both storms but I will take that over the alternative. Lived through Hugo and let me tell you that is no fun!! Gustav is gaining strength and that doesn't bode well for the Gulf Coast.

both myself and THR are in the "target" ranges of what seems to be ALL of the tropical storms and hurricanes. The last tropical storm that came through made for really weird weather. One hour it would sprinkle rain, the next it would stop. The NEXT it would pour down and then stop and then start pouring rain and then sprinkle...believe you me my cats shedded at least half of their fur during that week. Well all except our cat Satan, he just sat back and stared at the window plotting his escape.

Looks like Gustav is going to bring us alot of rain but the one to look out for seems to be Hanna who seems determine to mess my weekend next weekend. Going to be keeping an eye on her.
I'm in South Carolina, so we get our share.
THR, I had to evacuate Charleston during Hugo--I was in school there at the time... you?
Didn't evacuate and had a tree fall in my roof. Spent over a week with small kids and no electricity or water. That was NOT fun. I still have my "hugo" pots that I cooked with on the grill that are black on the side. Hanna doesn't look like she going to do anything but bring more rain. Let's keep our fingers crossed that that is the case.
