Default traffic tickets

Coming back from a wedding, I was the DD, I was doing 74 in a 50 ( I thought it was a 65) Ugh....lights and all pulled behind me.
So I see that the ticket will be 140.00 plus six points, but then I get another ticket, I'm assuming because I couldn't find my up to date insurance card in a miriad of paperwork. I had other papers supporting this, but ended up with two tickets....Am I looking at a 300.00 bill here?

the bill is the least of your problems. your insurance company will love to change your rate.. six points is pretty steep. hopefully you can talk him down before your court date.

holy crap! what did you do to Mr. Ocifer? Guessing they tagged you with reckless driving & no proof of insurance. DA hopefully will drop the speed to 9 over and dismiss the insurance this providing you can find your card. Also bring in a statment from insurance stating that there was no laps of coverage.

nah NJ manufacturer's really never raises rates.....unless you do something really stupid like me oh and he had my insurance card on him, it just was stuck to the registration. wonder if 150.00 for the insurance ticket is worth a day off and going to the city.

Nope in NY they said you can't contest it...so its another 40.00 plus 50 bucks surcharge..total bill. 230.00 for the ticket, and another 300.00 over the next three years as part of their driver assessment program.....BS if you ask me.

hey out of state plates, in ny (spent every summer there, talk about irony) its a wakeup call. not going to contest it. I'll take the bogus 6hr class to get points reduced...and pay my fine...thats all they want anyway.

Hey Tony,

Not sure if it will help you or not, but they had a local lawyer on TV here the other night talking about speeding tickets. He said when you get a ticket it is only an allegation, not a conviction. There can be ways of reducing or eliminating tickets/points/keeping insurance from rising, etc. Getting a lawyer can be a big help because they know what is possible.

I guess it depends on the cost of the tickets and fallout vs. the cost of the lawyer.

Just thought I'd throw that out there for you to ponder.
