ok so my boss has this brain-fart for our job sites. i work for an architecture firm (both an architect and designated IT guy). so my job now is to create a remote conference 'station' for construction sites.
heres what he wants to go
set up a laptop on the construction site with a webcam and stream the site action back to our office and have other people dial in a watch.
this is primarily for problems that occur on our sites that are in other states that we cant get to on a regular basis.
so basicaly we need a wireless camera streaming on a tripod that can be moved from location to location.
so far this is what i have come up with
1. a panasonic toughbook laptop (since its a construction site)
2. verizon broadband card (since our sites wont have network capability yet)
3. wireless webcam or bluetooth (not sure what would be better)
4. video conferencing software
so my question to all you people who have seen a video conference in action, set one up or know of someone who did...
do i have all the components? what would be the software/camera?
any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!!
