Qtrax-Legal Free Music Downloads!!!

So I did a search and did not find anything about this. In a nutshell Qtrax has partnered with various record companies and is now offering free legal music downloads. The record labels will be paid by ad revenues that Qtrax earns from advertisers on their site. Currently there is over 25 million songs available. It is a P2P service.

The company also promises that its music downloads will be playable on Apple Inc.'s iPods and Macintosh computers until April 15. That's unusual, as iPods only playback unrestricted MP3s files or tracks with Apple's proprietary version of DRM, dubbed FairPlay.

what happens after april 15th...they stop working? they no longer will be allowed to play on ipods?

and looks like it cant be downloaded until midnight tonight....

That is interesting. The article I read said nothing about that. Not a huge concern to me though since I do not have any apple products. Do you think that we would be able to download and load them to the sd card and listen on our Q?

I sure hope so. Dodging the "KGB"...I mean the RIAA sucks. HAHA.

I am surprised to not hear of this before. In the article it says Qtrax has been in development for 5yrs now. A little heads up would of been nice.
