At least Detroit made it farther than last year. Last year was very frustrating for Detroit sports fans. The Red Wings had the best record in the NHL and lost in the first round. The Pistons had the best record in the NBA and lost in the conference finals. The Tigers, after long suffering, had the best record in the Majors for much of the season, but didn't even finish with the best record in their division (but they did make the playoffs and got into the World Series, where they promptly choked -- why they didn't start Kenny Rogers in Game 5 is beyond me).

Now I'll just have to root for the Pistons.

I was rooting for Detroit after they sent the Flames golfing, couldn't stand all my Canucks fan friends blowing smoke....(notice how Turco shut them out 3 of 7 games, which was awesome for my pool btw)
