OK. I never actually left (:
But I see threads with this title all the time so..
I was considering buying a Diamond, and the Touch Pro is coming this week.
I've been reading reviews, I found two Diamonds on craigslist for $350.
I'm sitting in the Sprint parking lot now.
The Sprint diamond comes with a smooth red "soft" back cover unlike most of the photos on the net. That adds some visual weight to it.
First thing I did was navigate to task manager and close all running apps.
TouchFlo is not intuitive or it wasn't working correctly on the display. The buttons at the bottom of the screen had to be pressed to switch between camera, media, etc.
Switching to the camera shows how wonderful he screen is. That really is gorgeous.
Opera is well, Opera. Not my favorite browser.
Page loads seems a little slow, sometimes clicking a link does "nothing" so I click a couple more times.
Then the phone "wakes up" and starts loading the links over and over (?).
The QWERTY keyboard of course has no tactile feel but if you can get past that is too bad.
SprintTV has about the same "resolution" as the Q despite the fabulous screen.
Rotating the phone rotates the screen and goes full screen. Eventually.
That seems to be normal in all screens, sometimes it will rotate sometimes it just stays put. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
Going through the menus is a chore.
Again there seems to be lags when switching tabs and trying to scroll. A shortcut will be highlighted and the screen freezes for a few seconds, long enough to think it's not going to scroll and try it a few more times.
Somehow while trying to figure out the TouchFlo SMS opened maybe it was fate.
The SMS QWERTY keyboard is MUCH different than the one in Opera. It's tiny. A few quick key presses and I typed: "this isn't too bsd".
This is where it fell apart for me.
It was too hard to get it to backspace with the tiny on screen keys. On top of that I'll assume that it uses some kind of prediction to make the tiny keys work. I was not able to get "bad" correct from there.
That was the deal killer. I Returned it to the cradle and left.

Reason: Typos and such ):
mike, you already had your welcome back thread (and search party)...
me, I might be trying out the motorola Krave some time this week (not leaving the Q though, so no welcome back needed)
I did look through the taskmanager, twice, as I mentioned to close apps others had started. Mainly because the moment I launched the camera, by accident, I was trying to scroll through the photos and it launched a video, it warned another multimedia applications was running.
I was truly surprised how laggy the touchscreen and/or phone felt. I even had to check the specs.
Considering all the good reviews and the amount of people modding it over at ppcgeeks I thought I'd grab the phone from craigslist and wait for sprint to give me my discount in a few months from now for the Pro and sell off the Q then the Diamond. I went in wanting to like the phone.
While my Q9c lags sometimes, it's 10seconds from message button to open is the worst, it was much more responsive even with 200mhz less CPU and 200mb less RAM. I checked it's CPU and RAM usage too and both had lots left.
Perhaps somebody fingerf'd the phone to death, don't know.
