Howard Forums is trying to help, & someone just responded to a posting I put there, but I don't have her phone, so this will wait until tonight.
Scott, how do I send music from my phone to her?? Remember, I'm retarded with my Q, so detailed steps, please. I tried sending her the sons as an attachment in e-mail (number@vzwpix.com) but that never went through. (We have unlimited text & picture messaging...)
Thanks again for all your help. | from the Q you could highlight the file hit the right soft key then send then send by bluetooth
you will probably have to pair the devices
dont know anything really about the env but if you maybe to go its BT settings and let it 'be seen by other devices' then head to the Q's BT settings and search for devices
then when you are paired try the above steps for shipping it over BT |

| @Rudeboy: I paid more for her stupid phone than I would have for the Q9c (verion)! Trust me, you know which phone I pushed for, but noooooo! All of her friends have the env2, & at 10, that matters!
@Cheri: My pc have bluetooth?!? My hubby is a great guy, but I'm lucky we have high speed cable internet! Dial up is sooo much cheaper according to him! lol!
@Scott: if Rachel will let me touch her phone, I can try that tonight.
One question: If I go to filemanager on my Q, pull up the song she wants, highlight it, then try sending (either by mms/text/e-mail) how come it won't send? I also sent it from my pc to her phone, but that won't work either, which I don't get! |

| ok questions and comments:
1) the emailed attachments didn't arrive because Vzw blocks them over 350k (at least that's the rumor I read) in file size going to vzwpix.com and vtext.com is only for text no attachments. So that won't work.
2) The bluetooth transfer on the env2 is weird. It will receive the file but will not add it to the music folder, but instead to the ringtones/sounds folder. I'm trying it again now to make sure I was correct. It has a bit limited ability in that area (they want you to buy from them). But it will allow you to SEND a picture (not music) from the phone to a computer/another phone.
3) When you insert the memory card does the phone show it sees it?
4) When you copy the music to the card it has to go into the folder called MY_MUSIC (and if you want to add pictures to her memory card those would be MY_PIX) see if that helps.
Hope this might help.
edit: yep, just sent an MP3 from my MacBook to the enV2 and it saves to "My Sounds" not the music folder and you cannot move it.
Also, to check if the phone sees the memory card go - Menu \ Settings & Tools \ Memory \ Card Memory

Cliff: The phone sse the memory card, because when I do the steps you stated above, it shows how much memory is left on the card. (I only put 1 song on to start, so there is plenty left...)
Can you play the songs from the "My Sounds" folder?
Someone at Howard Forums posted these steps:
If you formated the card in the phone there should be a "My Music" folder. Put all the music in there, make sure the ID3 tags are complete (artist, album, track name, track number, etc). Put the card back in the phone, open the music player, and select an option to play (artist, song, etc), put the right soft key for options and choose "Rebuild Music Database".
That should scan all the songs and list their info in the music player on the phone.
Once I get to the point I "bolded", I am stuck...I get to the right soft key for "Options", and when I click it, nothing happens. I can't get the "Rebuild Music Database" screen.
I appreciate everyones help on this!

As for playing from My Sounds - yes kind of. It will play and sound just fine but only while you sit there and do nothing with the phone. But I guess it's no different than the music player too since you can't minimize that app and play a game or text message while listening to the song.
I didn't remember the rebuild option but did just find it. Open the music player and it should be on the MY MUSIC "homescreen" with Shop and Sync soft buttons. I went to 4. Songs (may be empty for you right now) and hit the right key Options then 8. Rebuild Music Database. Any songs that are not in the MY_MUSIC folder or songs that are in sub-folder inside that will not show up. |

There is the magnifying glass with the icon flashing on the "search". I never get to the next step. Clicking "Options" doesn't get me to the "Rebuild Music Database".
I'm losing my mind with this!!
