I have not seen this yet. I am hoping to watch it soon.
I think the title is kind of strange...being that we here live with autism everyday. My kids and I when we heard about this project imagined it would be something like a person with autism and their reflections on life via a musical....that is not the case lol...but is a thought. If you know anyone that has autism or know someone you know how amusing that would be.
I gues having two "typical" siblings who are much older. Easier for us to determin early on that Vincent was different. His brother pointed out an article in Newsweek regarding autism about 5 years ago...of course I did not want to think about it and I told him so, because in my mind there is no way that Vincent could be the kid wearing a helmet, rocking consistently, not talking, virtually in his own world, watching things spin and riding on the little bus. (no helmet, he does talk now, has never rocked, we have helped him out of his little world some, he does like to spin stuff but not for hours, but the little bus is actually pretty cool since most days on the way home he is the only kid on the bus LOL)
Any how, if you your self have a child, know of a child, etc...i dont know anyone that doesnt know of at least one person with autism. When I was a kid it was virtually non exsistent and the effects were generally more debilitating for the individual. I think it will be interesting to see how this plays out and how the people that had this idea worked with the children. Whether I agree with the methods or not...it will be enlightening.
just my like 3rd or 4th PSA for the day.
