Default Flex Your Geek Muscle (i.e. post you PC specs)

Actually I have several PCs.

But my baby is my Dell Inspiron E1705 (had an XPS but it got stolen out of my trunk). Paid a bundle for this one because I got it day zero when the dual cores first came out for dell laptops.

Dual core 2.0 Ghz, 2GB ram, 100GB sata 7500RPM hard drive, Sound Blaster expresscard hooked up to 4.1 surround, nvidia go 7800 256mb video card, built in 17" widescreen with 1900X1200 native resolution. Yes I wanted to be able to take the power of a desktop anywhere with me. I also use this to play games on (orange box, COD4, WoW). Also hooked up I have a Logitech G5 gaming mouse and Ideazon Merc Stealth gaming keyboard.

Other PCs include: IBM x-Series Server (nothing special 2ghz proc, 2gb ram, dual 80g hdd). I also have a P4 gateway that a client gave me (I wanted it because it had built in firewire and the video card had built in svideo out). This is going to become my DVR in the near future. (did you know you can hook up your cable box via firewire to a PC to record TV???) I also have a P2 233mhz 192mb ram toshiba laptop. I honestly dont know why I still have this. It was my first laptop and I just cant part with it.

I'll admit that my geeky specs are way nder yours, due more to money issues than desire; however, my "daily driver" is an Acer 5050 running Vista Home Basic, 2.4 GHz AMD Athlon X64 Dual Core, 2GB Kingston RAM, and an 80GB hard drive. It runnswell for being a $500 laptop, but I do plan to buy a better model this summer so that the wife can have this one. I have several desktops set up around the house (in fact you arenever more than 30 feet from one when you visit), but my favorite one is an old dell that I had to drive through the war zone in Omaha on Sept 11th, 2001 to pick up from UPS. Paid three grand for a 1.0 GHz, 256MB RAM, 20GB hardrive system that I still use to this day for a few things (mainly a file server). To add insult to injury, after driving in to town to pck up my $3,000 comp, I had to pay $7.49 a gallon for gas to dive home...

Built this computer a while ago the same day I got my first credit card

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ @ 2.6 GHz

Asus M2N Sli Deluxe Mobo

2 GB High Speed RAM (not sure of exact speed, forgot)

Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT w/ 256 MB memory

Onkyo 7.1 channel soundcard with a 5.1 channel logitech surround sound system (insane Bass) and sennheiser headphones

700 GB of HDD space... I had 1.1 TB but my HDD failed recently and I lost 400 GB of important stuff

And some random add ons... TV card, IR receivers for remotes, bluetooth, additional sound card.

I use it mainly for web browsing, some gaming and, most importantly, as Media Center PC. I have it hooked up to my 52" HDTV via HDMI.

Only downside... it's a fricking heater. It makes my room hot. I wonder if watercooling would possibly eliminate that issue.

Going to buy a laptop soon. Nothing special, I just want a nice little 14 inch screen with decent performance for web browsing, home work, etc.

I have multiple machines, but my main one is my laptop.

It's an HP Pavilion Widescreen dv9000z

AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Dual Core @ 1.8 GHz
2 Gigs RAM
Vista Home Premium
2 - 160g Hard Drives
Video is a bit lacking, but it's laptop onboard video... GeForce 6150

I run Adobe CS 3 Production Suite (huge system hog) on here and it works great.

Default Desktop + Laptop

Main Desktop:
Zalman GT1000 Black
PCP&C 750QUAD
Abit IN9 32X-MAX
Intel Q6600 @ 3.0GHz
8GB DDR2 @ 1GHz
2x74GB Raptor RAID 0 - OS+Apps
2x150GB Raptro RAID 0 - VMs
500GB Data
Vista Ultimate x64 SP1

Laptop:
HP NX9420 @ 2.0GHz
4GB RAM
320GB WD Scorpio
XP SP3 (Since i945 chipsets won't let any OS see the full 4GB...)

I'm usually running 3+ VM's at any given moment, each with full instances of SQL for app development so I do actually get to eat up all of the RAM on the desktop...
