Data- A want or a need?

I thought I would hop on the 30.00 plan that verizon is coming out with.
However, I am never far from a pc...
I have one at work, two at home and also a laptop....
My boss, who happens to be my father doesn't believe in the BB or wm devices. He says if its important they can reach you on your cell. I guess this is true in my industry.....

I guess for me its a luxury and not a need.

Others feel the same?
We should all put I don't use data under our signatures....

I will have to say i dont use the data much either.. Just every now and then maybe to look up a phone number or something.. but than again im just to lazy to get a phone book out of the counter so yeah its more of a luxury for me as well

I went with the Simply Everything plan from Sprint cause I use my cell as my only phone. And while I have my work pc and laptop I still use data quite a bit. If I'm out and about or just cause I'm too lazy to start up the laptop. So I have to say for me data is a must.

I use it a lot.
Especially comparing prices between stores for the same thing.
I was @ Staples needing DVD's & did a price search on Office Max and they were cheaper. Sales person came up & wanted to know if I was using a BBerry *sigh* Told him it was a MotoQ & I was doing a price comparison. When I told him that Office Max was cheaper for the same thing he got the store manager. Not to be out done they gave me 2 pckg's of DVDs for the price of O. Max's one.

dunno about need... i use it quite often since i have it. not sure if there are really people that need it.... there was a time when nobody had a cellphone & things got done, now it's like they can't do with out.

It's not so much of an actual need (in my case) but more of a mental need (as in I "need" to get my data fix). Using it does make quite a few things easier, but there's nothing that I wouldn't be able to do a little later if I didn't have data.

Absolute need for me! 80% of my posts are from the phone (potQ, right?? ;) ). I also have a PC at my desk, & I sometimes search the web from there, but I use this phone like I would use a laptop. I have 3 kids at home, so checking e-mail and responding is all from the Q. I couldn't imagine not having the data plan! (I have Verizon service, so I will definately look into the new price plan)

well as you know i happen to be in your industry. i use it alot to keep up with the office when i travel for work, and there are times i travel alot. not only good to keep in touch but keep be occupied when im stuck in an airport being delayed for a few hours or traffic (shhhhh dont tell anyone).

and especially now that im starting my own business on top of my regular work it really keeps me in contact with clients and what not.

but i agree with RB, i dont NEED it but now that i have it i cant go back to not having it.

I'm with Paco on this one. Plus I really like being connected, and I'm hoping that I will be able to get better internet speeds through my phone with PDANet at home (family still uses dial-up and no real way out of it).

Besides, I consider it a have-to with a device like this. If it had WiFi, I probably wouldn't have it.

I upgraded from my razor to the Q so I can check prices on AMazon and Ebay when I am out shopping for my online stores. It helps to check prices right there in the store instead of trying to remember what I see and go home and check.
