| Car Audio ok, i got a double din cd player for my car http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?mo...hId=148&page=1
and i didnt think about fit before i got it..well, its about an inch too big to fit my dash...i can cut the mounting area, but are there any serious problems with that?...i was thinking about putting in a mesh screen over the dash area, then doing carbon fiber to make a smooth install and relocating the heat controls.... any ideas, i could also relocate the cd player, leaving the stock, but is that hard?

| I would think you can shift the controls out the way providing it is a short distance(1-2") depending on wiring..etc. May need to get creative with mounting brackets.
pencil it out on some graph paper just to make sure it wont look like poo when your done |

| once i get the old one out, ill be able to see about fit, but there is one cable that appears to be hard wired into the back of the stock unit...
after thats out, i think i might be able to dremel the stock bracket a little bit and get it to fit, as there appears to be extra plastic....

| you know, im considering a new car stereo purchase. I am thinking about a portable xm thing too. I have always only watched or handed tools to nice boys when they fit my car with electronics. The good thing is there always seems to be a way to repair a mistake.
Like mike said draw out your plan. Im jealous you are getting urs first! lol jk
You know they use a dremel to sand some finger or toe nails too. Just thought ud like to know. |
