Capabilities of a Blackberry Pearl 8100

My youngest daughter was just given a Blackberry Pearl and I am going to help her to utilize it to it's full potential... as I've been so fortunate to have done with my Q with knowledge attained from this forum ...

Anyways, a couple of basic questions for any of you who has some knowledge about the Blackberry Pearls...

Is the built-in media player sufficient to play her MP3s and to watch movies as well...kinda like TCPMP on our Qs?
Can she load TCPMP onto her Pearl?

What are some of the 3rd party mobile softwares that I may be able to install onto it?

Any other info that you feel I should know is most welcome... even the littlest bit on info would be most appreciated...
