| You did try just one stick of mem at a time, right? I would do that first before putting old one back in. If you can move the peripheral cards around that might help too. Hopefully not everything is intergrated into the mobo. Move the nic card to a different slot, as well as vid, sound cards, etc. (Though vid cards are pretty territorial where they want to be) & boot up with each change. If you still get errors then it could be mobo going bad, which leads me back to the power supply. The power supply may not be putting out enough amperage, ohms, etc to keep up with the computer demands. And, you did check the computers virtual memory right? Maybe a bad shut down, power surge changed the optimal memory settings for the computer. I have seen this a lot, especially in XP. Keep us updated. |

| bad mem does happen, ran into that with my old '98 box. Random boot failures, lockups, mouse pointer going nuts..apps starting up. Ended up gutting the box before if found out it was the RAM.

| There was a stupid (or someone might have liked it, I guess) TV show called "HeeHaw". There was a guy on there named Junior (I think), would do a 30 second bit trying to sell cars and if you wanted to call him you dialed ...."BR-549": that was his telephone number. I heard that so much from nieces and nephews I threatened to blow up their TV. I guess it got stuck in my brain! Is there anyway to purge that brain cell that remembered that number? *already tried the hard re-boot several times, that's a no-go!* Now you know more than you wanted to know-huh?
Glad computer is working again, and yes!, mobo's can take out mem cards but if that happens other bad things happen as well. I have never seen a mobo just "kind-of" work. It either does or doesn't. (In my experience, anyway). |

Can you get a memory or kernel dump of the machine?
Ref: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b/315263/en-us
If you can pull one of those I might be able to find the source of the error. Alternatively, does the BSOD provide a source program or reference as well as a more specific stop code? |
