Did you check the IRQ allocations in both the bios and in windows? Make sure there is not a conflict.

Also depending on the exact error code it may be a problem with your NIC drivers. A network protocol stop error will cause the IRQLNE_L error.

try here... http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;817864

More often than not the IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL error is in deed a physical issue with the RAM. I too would pull both (hopefully there are more than 1) then put back one at a time.

just to ease my curiosity, 98% of the time this user was in Outlook when it happened... does Windows allocate the same physical piece of memory ?

Another reason I would suspect a bad np code. Windows doesn't allocate the same address in RAM to a specific program, although if there is a large enough bad sector (could be virtual as well) then it could be hitting it every time as a matter of coincidence.

Geekster: just stopped the test.. pressed X and no report if there were errors..

also checked the mem, of course there is only one stick so testing 1 and then the other won't work :}

gonna check some local stores and get a new mem stick.

will update later..

thanks.

Smile

You did try putting in another stick of mem from another computer? I would do that first before I spent money. Or is that what you were trying to tell me? I haven't had my instant capo yet! (where is the "yawn" smily when you need one?)
Good Luck...

well.... there's only like 10 users here and none would appreciate coming in finding their pc dismantled :} so the plan was to sent the boss to the pc store and get me some mem...

after you find the yawn smiley, hook me up with a stuffed nose coughing smiley with a major headache would ya :}

Default another *update*

i got a new 1Gb memory stick (weeks ago).. and from time to time the user still has odd issues, at least twice she had the same error bsod, but also other errors popped up.

AVG (anti virus software) also gave an error and i "blamed" the software, their tech support told me to check the memory (without me even mentioning the memory issue)

i told the user to keep working until i can spent some time on it, AVG support advised me to run Memtest86+ which i have so we'll see what that says. been around pc's for a long time, never had a memory stick issue, and now 2 in a row.. 1 is brand new :}

okay, for those still following this :}

i ran Memtest86+ and lets say a part of the screen turned very red very pronto :} i sent her to the memory store and she got a new 1Gb stick.. we'll see.

made me think, could the main-board be "ruining" the memory..
