    |  Bootstraps Goes to Sacramento! Im currently waiting for another mom to pick me up. We are going to a meet and greet with other school districts etc to see our local reps and or their staff. Our topic: NO MORE CUTS IN EDUCATION...this state is so lacking in foundations for kids in education let alone special ed. Its immoral to cut more from these kids AND then have these rediculous "No Child Left Behind" rules that do not get funded any way. Any hoo....I had a choice between the black strap buckel wedges and well my boots sooooo boots are on and wedges are riding in the back seat just in case its 100 degrees in Sac today. If i find more info or a link I will post it later.... I wonder if I will get an opportunity to actually say anything. I would be so disappointed to spend all day in Sac and not get to get my point across. But then again, Ill probably find a way ;)

| Legislation for schools... Hey, Cheri. My daughter Bari is on her schools Legislation Committee, and their purpose is lobbying the state capitol to keep funds in the schools. It is only a select couple of kids who get on the committee, based on grades, attitude, and teacher recommendations. The group was supposed to go up to Albany (the state capitol) about 2 months ago, to lobby and meet with legislators/senators and possibly the governor to ask questions and discuss state aid. The day of her trip was the day the sh** hit the fan for Governor Spitzer (now ex-Governor Spitzer), so the trip was cancelled! Hopefully, you'll have better luck with your endeavors! By the way, how did your son's IEP go? Is he getting all the services he needs? One of these days, I'll pm you on my son's story... Good Luck today! |

| Uh-Oh! Haven't heard from Cheri since this afternoon. Might need to start taking up a collection to get her out of jail!! Don't think those boots will survive a night in the pokey! Let's hope all is well and she behaved herself today while still getting her point across.
