Default Bad situation gone terrible.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I'll keep this short and sweet but desperately need help.

So I've been dating a girl for a while. She has a 12 yearold daughter. Me and the girlfriend decided together that a mutual breakup was in order. We decided to wait until tonight to tell her daughter(so she could have the weekend to deal with it). Well we sat her down tonight to tell her. We tell her. well 2 hours after telling her. I finally leave and get 2 my parents house. and then find out that she thought we were sitting her down to tell her we were getting married. yup i feel terrible and needed to vent. sorry.

Yes - kids are very resilient and they will eventually get over it (with a lot of help and love from their mom). On the other hand...are YOU going to get over it??

A year. Not long but long enuf for everyone to get attached. I took the 2 of them out for dinner today. So that Mom and I could show the little one that things are ok.
