Anti Virus Spyware

Hllo everyone this is kind of off topic but i figured i would try here for suggestions

I just bought a new Gateway M-series and i am looking for a good spyware and anti-virus program to install without breaking the bank any suggestions????

i know some folks that use avast. for anti-virus...spyware hmmm well spybot search and destroy.

woops forgot ad-aware by lavasoft used to have a free version.

They still do, it's now called Ad Aware 2007. Still free and one of the best Anti-Spyware Apps.

Comodo Firewall is also amongst the best of all firewalls, and the best part is that it is free despite being better than almost all of the major pay for internet security programs.

Another alternative to a great free Anti-Virus program besides Avast is AVG, either one is fantastic and free.

I use both & Comodo is up for so many awards that's it's blowing the paid versions out of the water! Don't forget to add Spyware Blaster to the list, it works in the background with no issues and stops a lot of spyware from loading that you didn't know was there. Spyware Doctor from Pc Tools is another excellent free tool. Need more than one, what one doesn't find the other one will, is the current theory. My 2 pennies

Ah yes, Spyware Blaster... I do have that as well, just forgot to mention it since it's out of sight, out of mind...lol
And it does do a great proactive job

AVG has both free antivirus and spyware software.
Both are free and I have used them for years.
