| The way I do it to send to several ppl at a time is the CC field. (Carbon Copy)
If I don't want anyone to know that I have sent the same thing to several ppl is use the BCC field (Blind Carbon Copy)
Without buying an expensive bulk mailer and creating rules on who gets what (& those rules could change from day to day) or a monthly fee web based one, this is the only thing I have come up with locally from my personal computer.
Your boss will have to create 2 groups: the ones who get the attachment and the ones who don't.
The good thing though, is that your boss can keep adding the names to the different address fields from the contact list, just keep double clicking on the names & they will be added with ";" between the names.
I know, sending the same email 2ce is a PIA but it's cheap way to do it!

Make sure you dont overclock your multilomoter when you editing the binary files b/c it might reconfigure your harddrive and your q might blowup.

but we wanted to have the main recipients get the attachements and have others (the CC) not get them but see that we sent it to the main people to cover our asses... |

If you have a lot of ppl that can be a PIA but done once it's done. I don't know which program is good or bad. Do you have an IT? Maybe they can look into it & see w/c one would be the best one for you. Plus ZDNet has a lot of white papers on programs that you could compare a program against another. *get the "low guy on the totem pole" to do it & tell him/her he/she sure is a good team player ..pat pat on back*

i was looking around and i thought you could set certain "properties" for contacts, meaning if they get html format or plain.. did not find it yet but perhaps you can give the people you do not want to receive the attachment to a smaller maximum email size... but, if that is possible you might receive a bunch of bouncing emails back :]
